13 MOST BEAUTIFUL … SONGS FOR ANDY WARHOL’S SCREEN TESTS
DEAN & BRITTA
Between 1964 and 1966, pop icon Andy Warhol shot roughly 500 ’screen tests’ at The Factory, his famed New York studio. Shot in black and white in uninterrupted takes, these four-minute scenes open a window into a dynamically creative era in America.
New York indie songwriters Dean & Britta (formerly of Luna) perform original and cover songs that perfectly suit the mood of each film. Music ranges from dreamy, swirling pop to ominous instrumentals for dancer Freddy Herko, who fell to his death a few weeks after shooting his film, to a blazing version of a rare Velvet Underground song for a young Lou Reed.
Man Dean and Britta were soo good!!! an awsome night!
Benicassim
Bought tickets to go to the Benicassim festival in Spain!!!! Its a 4 day arts, dance, movie, fashion and music festival an hour drive north of Valenica in the small coastal town of Benicassim. So so so excited especially after seeing The Prodigy at Future music yesterday, fuken killed it!! Im sure it will be much better organized than Future, ascot race course is THE WORST venue ever. I feel like ive been hit by a truck, lost my voice and can’t breathe because it was an absolute dust storm.

An Ultimate experience
Jimi Hendrix is the latest megastar to have previously unknown recordings unearthed posthumously. ‘Valleys Of Neptune’ captures the last years he spent in the studio focusing on the pivotal 1969 sessions.

The album features the long sought after ‘Valleys Of Neptune’ track which will be released as a single in February, and which was previously only ever available on the ‘Lifelines: The Jimi Hendrix Story’ four disc set from 1990. Other songs include studio versions of Hendrix’s covers ‘Bleeding Heart’, ‘Sunshine of Your Love’, ‘Fire’, ‘Red House’ and ‘Stone Free’.
exciting! I Lovvvvvve Hendrix!
im hearing and seeing ya bitch
Has anyone else noticed the rise of the ‘alternative’ pop princess? they’re taking over the red carpets. Im talking Britney and Taylor Swift…but way way cooler? These birds are taking on music market solo and kicking arse. They’re also paving some good ways with fashion and becoming more than known just for their music.
Go girls
